Aécio Sarti

Aécio Sarti

Born in Aracaju in 1959. From a young age, he heard his mother say that he was destined to be an artist!

By 14, he was already exhibiting and selling his works in city squares and fairs, and at 16, he took his first painting lessons, driven by a desire to master the human figure. In the 1970s, he moved to the United States to study art at the Institutes of Arts in Denver, Colorado.

Upon returning to Brazil, he was forced to pause his artistic practice due to the country’s financial crisis, remaining away from painting for nearly 20 years. In 2002, he left everything behind to dedicate himself fully to his art. Since 2005, he has kept his atelier open facing the pier at the historic center of the city.

His greatest inspiration comes from his life story and the people he encounters along the way. While he respects academic training, his true education has come from relentless practice, discipline, and dedication.
