Marcinho Franco

Márcio Franco was born in Minas Gerais and has long been captivated by nature and its harmonious coexistence with humans. He has lived in Paraty for 33 years, where the region’s rich fauna and flora inspire his work. With his scientist passion, Franco is deeply concerned with the survival of native species. His works are created by faithfully reproducing the environments in which these species thrive.

His art results from extensive research in the Atlantic Rain Forest, following trails through forests, waterfalls, and coastal landscapes where pristine jungle meets the ocean. Each piece serves as a pictorial record of the region’s biodiversity.

According to Diuner Mello, a Paraty historian, “Márcio Franco’s art offers contemplative moments with the diverse fauna and flora of the Atlantic Rain Forest, enabling us to better understand and admire them.”
